DIVE BAR OF THE MONTH

THE WINDROSE CAFE, TYBEE ISLAND, GA

Hank and I love a good dive bar- and by dive bar I mean dark lighting with great music, cheap drinks and hopefully a fight (or at least some chicks flashing) for the entertainment. Ladies and gentlemen, let's just say that the Windrose on teeny tiny Tybee Island NEVER disappoints us- and Friday night (11/28) was no exception.
Let me preface this by saying that Hank and I love Tybee year round, but the chilly off season is our favorite time to be out there. The locals come out to play, knowing that the chances of running into drunk idiotic tourists slurring karaoke of Creed or Jimmy Buffett songs are greatly minimized. The Windrose is thankfully always karaoke free, and you'll know the place by the blasting of Slayer or some great local metal from the speakers outside.

All was seeming pretty status quo until a young girl came in and ordered a drink. Unable to produce proper ID, Doug (very rightfully) asked her to leave. She didn't really like this..calling him a motherfucker, cocksucker, you name it...all I can say is that she must've been really thirsty or just exceptionally mentally challenged- you can tell by looking at Doug that calling him a cocksucker is a supremely stupid idea. Thankfully the girl's brother dragged her out (literally) kicking and screaming.

c. We made an amateurish music video for Joan Solley which can be found on Youtube via http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzJE3RN6k9c.  Lookout for a more professional xmas video later this week..you can here the insanely catchy 'Toys Don't Come for Free' on her music MySpace page (Joan Solley).
